Terminator 3 Final Retribution

History

After seeing both Terminator and Terminator 2 I must say that I felt rather drained of adrenaline. And I also had a bitter taste in the back of my mouth after T2 was over because I felt that the effects and action though much better, made way for less of a plot.

But in my mind there had to be closure, a third part. The Terminator Trilogy always sounded right to me. In 1994 I suddenly felt the urge to write a T3 story, I'm a creative writer and felt that I had the good basis for a story. I approached my friend Andrew and told him of my idea, showed him T2, and got him riled up. We started to write T3 together.

That didn't last very long, our story ideas were so different, that we just couldn't make them compatible. So we decided to each write our own versions, and that is how it all began.

I titled mine Terminator 3: Final Retribution, and Andrews started as Terminator 3: Final Redemption.

We shared how things were going, plots were developing but over time our friendship grew apart and I have no idea if he ever finished his story idea. Mine took form quickly, and soon the "book" had grown in size to a staggering 245 pages! I saved it to my floppy no problem but when I went to work on it the next day, the file would not open. So my "James Cameron Edition" of T3 was dead.

In 1996 I started work on what I called my "John Woo Edition" which is the script you are reading on this site. Some of the basics of the story stayed, but the rest was brand new.

Now in early 2000 the script is ready, all 230 pages of it. There will be some surprises, and I'm very pleased with the finished product. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
